Rapax points

[edit]

Why Rapax have 8 points? Or I don't know something? --Zeenderman (talk) 18:24, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Because Dillmann scored 8 and Teixeira scored 0 points. 8+0=8 :-) --Gamma127 (talk) 18:36, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. There's fault in table. In table were two 8th places. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zeenderman (talkcontribs) 18:46, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Time penalties & lapped drivers

[edit]

I don't know the exact regulations, but I found some problems about two time penalties: maybe a penalised driver can be overtaken also by lapped driver.

  • In Sepang Race 1, Trummer has 20" added and this source says "Trummer ended P21 and with the time penalty imposed, finishes P23", even if Serenelli, 23rd at finish, has a 1-lap gap. Trummer is listed in these tables as 22nd.
  • In Valencia Race 1, Valsecchi has 20" added and according to this "Valsecchi, who finished 8th on the road, will now be classified 18th", and this is how he's classified also in the tables, even if Guerin (18th at finish) is lapped.

So there is something wrong somewhere, isn't it? 95.248.79.153 (talk) 16:57, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think what it means is, 20 seconds from when the drivers finished the final lap. In Guerin's case for example, he finished the final lap about 15 seconds after Valsecchi, even if he was a lap behind.
I guess it is pretty confusing, but we're going by what the official site says, and it says that Trummer was 23rd and Valsecch finished 18th. BosleyTree (talk) 17:08, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, Trummer is listed as 22nd in the tables on this page, because we all (wrongly) thought that Trummer couldn't be overtaken by Serenelli (that completed less laps than him), so if they only look at the race time, it should be corrected also in the tables (Serenelli 22nd, Trummer 23rd). 95.248.79.153 (talk) 17:20, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Simple mistake, they really should make it clearer on the site when they issue penalties. BosleyTree (talk) 17:34, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ricardo Teixeira

[edit]

Somebody keeps changing Ricardo Teixeira's nationality to Portuguese. Although Teixeria was born in Portugal, he holds dual Portuguese and Angolan citizenship, and races under a licence issued by the Angolan motorsport federation. For all intents and purposes, he is considered to be Angolan, which is clearly supported by his profile on the series' official website. Prisonermonkeys (talk) 12:23, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with you, I think that they keep changing his flag because he is currently shown as Portuguese on the TV graphics, but according to the official website he's still Angolan, so we should keep this one. P.S. Fabio Gamberini in the 2012 GP3 Series season page is Brazilian, but on the GP3 site he's British. 79.51.77.194 (talk) 12:46, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I mailed to the GP2 Series some time ago and they confirmed me, that Teixeira entered the series under a Portuguese license. So in the table should be the Portuguese flag. --Gamma127 (talk) 17:42, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have a source for that? One that can be verified by everyone here? Prisonermonkeys (talk) 23:09, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Monaco TV graphics verifies that Teixeira still races under a Portuguese license. It is just mistake on site. I am sure that in today race he will be under Portuguese flag as usual. Cybervoron (talk) 11:03, 7 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Same with Julián Leal

[edit]

There's a similar situation with Julián Leal. At the start of the season, this page listed him as Italian, but it has since been changed to Colombian (where he was born, and under whose licence he has previously competed). I don't have Sky so I don't know what his flag is on the TV graphics, but the GP2 site lists him as Colombian. He is also listed as Italian in the List of GP2 Series drivers article.--Midgrid(talk) 22:23, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Last year Leal is listed as both Italian & Columbian on the 2011 season page, why not do it again this year, and list Teixeira as both Portuguese and Angolan. I mean at least that way there'll be less of a fuss on what to list them as if theres two certified sources that clash. BosleyTree (talk) 22:52, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
No that is not the same situation. Leal changed his licence in the previous season. Teixeira allways entered the series under Portuguese licence. I mailed to the GP2 series month ago and got the answer “He is Angolan with a Portuguese licence.” Because we allways go by licence, we also should do it in this article. --Gamma127 (talk) 09:07, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Then there's the answer. They're both already listed as the right license anyway now, so if anyone changes it again just refer to here. BosleyTree (talk) 11:25, 11 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Mistakes

[edit]

In Silverstone Race 1 Onidi was penalized after the race, he is classified 22nd ([1]); in Race 2 Guerin did not start ([2]). --79.20.80.156 (talk) 15:47, 8 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Teixeira Disqualified in Germany?

[edit]

While watching the first race of the german round through the live timing on the official site, it mentioned he was black flaged, so would that mean he would be classed as retired or disqualified? I'm unsure if it was just an error on the site or if it actually happened. BosleyTree (talk) 15:47, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

On Crash.net they say "[...] the Rapax driver was black-flagged for not serving a drive-thru penalty originally handed out for waved blue flags". So I think it's a DSQ. 95.248.85.76 (talk) 18:01, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Víctor Guerin or Victor Guerin?

[edit]

Hi, according to the page Victor (name), the form Víctor is used by Spanish language, while in Portuguese it's Victor, without accent. Victor Guerin is Brazilian so the title is wrong, you should move it. 87.9.140.146 (talk) 15:39, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
